Who we are

Beautiful landscapes and the farmers

Kaimosi ATC was founded in 1958 in a farm formerly owned by a white settler called Mr Miller. The ATC occupied 560 Acres, held in trust by Nandi County council. Originally, the institution was known as Farmers’ Training Centre (FTC) and its main purpose was to offer short-term training for farmers through demonstrations and practical learning.

The institution is currently used for training farmers and extension staff, meetings/trainings by stakeholders and for commercial production of crop and livestock enterprises.

During adjudication that started from 1970s, the parcel LR KAPSABET/KAIMOSI/35 was subdivided in 1990 to two parcels of 360 acres (LR 608) under Nandi County Council leaving LR 35 of 94.16 ha to Kaimosi ATC.

Currently an allotment letter of LR 35 has been issued by the Commissioner of Lands and we are following on title deed issuance.

The area is UM1-2 and has an altitude of 1500 m a.s. l. The area receives well distributed rainfall averaging 2000 mm per annum and the soils are sandy loam. The farm is suited for enterprises such as Tea, Coffee, Dairy and Horticulture.

Kaimosi ATC is in Nandi County and serves 6 sub counties namely; Tindiret, Nandi Hills, Aldai, Emgwen, Chesumei and Mosop.
